STICK UMBRELLAS

Umbrellas are available in a wide variety of styles and shapes. The term stick umbrella refers to umbrellas with a long straight shaft and handle. Fashion umbrellas also have a long straight shaft but the handle is curved. The arc (canopy) size of these umbrellas can vary from 42" to 68" depending upon the style. Umbrellas with a 60" arc size and larger are considered golf umbrellas. Umbrellas with a 48" arc will cover one and a half people or two people close together. Umbrellas with an arc size smaller than 48" is used by a single person.

Stick umbrellas are popular with men because when they are closed they are used as a walking stick. These umbrellas come in a variety of sizes, colors and patterns. They can be used as promotional products when the are imprinted with a logo or message.

In addition stick umbrellas can be manufactured from different materials. A lighting proof stick umbrella, which is non conductive, is one that is made from the following materials:

RIBS: Fiberglas or wood, SHAFT: Fiberglas or wood. HANDLE: Fiberglas, wood, plastic or other non conductive materials.

A vented stick umbrella is one that has a double canopy and allows the wind to vent out from the top. Stick umbrellas can also be windproof. This type of umbrella has fiberglas ribs and if the umbrella turns inside out, it can be snapped back into place and will not be destroyed. If the ribs are metal, the umbrella would be destroyed.

Most standard stick umbrellas have eight panels. The fabric color of the canopy can be either solid or alternating color panels.
